Tom qualified in September 2012, having trained with the firm. He specialises in all aspects of contentious shipping and international trade work, including charterparty disputes, cargo claims and marine insurance issues. Clients that he acts for include shipowners, charterers, insurers, P&I clubs, freight forwarders, logistics companies and all those involved with the movement of goods.
Tom has been involved in a number of multi-million pound disputes since qualification, including LMAA arbitration proceedings for breach of charterparty, and representing a firm of insurance brokers in a complex High Court coverage dispute.
His experience also includes advising clients in relation to claims arising from the shipment, storage and insurance of commodities, and, as well as LMAA proceedings, Tom has dealt with arbitrations arising under the FOSFA and GAFTA rules.
Before joining the firm, Tom worked in the claims department of a P&I insurer in the City, and he maintains a particular interest in disputes arising from the marine insurance industry.
Tom is based at our Ipswich office.
