    • Deborah qualified as a solicitor in 2007 at a regional law firm based in Cambridge. Deborah joined Birketts in May 2014. She deals with a range of commercial property transactions including work involving sales, purchases, leases, investment property, development and strategic land, secured lending and property aspects of corporate transactions acting for a range of clients including house builders, institutional lenders, owner / occupiers and charities.

      Deborah has experience advising both landowners and developers in connection with development transactions involving residential development, mixed use schemes and supermarkets including dealing with conditional contracts, options, overage and promotion agreements. Deborah also acts for lenders in respect of portfolio secured lending and works with both landlords and tenants advising them on their lease arrangements particularly in the science and technology sectors.

      Deborah recently acted on the property aspects of a business sale involving a multifaceted site including residential flats, commercial premises and recreational facilities undertaken within a particularly tight timescale to meet funding requirements. Deborah has also recently completed the conditional sale of the first phase of a multimillion pound residential development site subject to overage and involving complex planning obligations.

      Outside of work, Deborah enjoys travelling, particularly spending time in the north of Spain. Deborah also has an interest in participating in team sports and riding motorbikes. Her music interests are wide ranging, but include attending Americana and folk festivals both locally and abroad.
