    • Laura originally joined Birketts in 2015 as a Paralegal in the Corporate, Employment and Litigation Teams and is now a Trainee Solicitor in our Cambridge office. Laura is currently undertaking her third seat with Corporate. She will be assisting the team with acquisitions, mergers and banking transactions.

      She spent her first training seat working with our Employment Team, and she also spent time in Corporate and Commercial Litigation. In the Employment Team, Laura drafted several settlement agreements and COT3, and assisted during employment tribunal and High Court claims, and helped advise on modern slavery, education and international employee matters. Laura spent her second training seat within the Planning and Commercial Property teams whereby she assisted with several commercial property transactions. She also helped draft planning documents such as section 106 agreements, and was involved in planning appeals.

    • Before completing her LPC, Laura graduated from Lancaster University with a first class degree in Law and French. She was awarded the F H Lawson award for this grade and she achieved a Distinction in her French. Additionally, whilst at university, Laura spent a year studying law abroad in Lyon, France. She is fluent in French.

      Outside of work, Laura is a keen runner and sportswoman, and has participated in events such as the Lyon Urban Trail Half Marathon and the Cumbrian Challenge. She also enjoys rugby, travelling and music concerts.
